Centrally located and surrounded by dedicated open spaces, Mt. Tamalpais and the bay, Corte Madera might just be one of the most appealing towns in Marin. A neighborhood feeling comes to mind when you enter here sidewalks, well-manicured homes and yards and in most cases walking distance to popular shopping and restaurants.
Just 10 miles to the Golden Gate Bridge and minutes to Hwy 101 north or south and the San Rafael Bridge are nearby too.
Corte Madera has two of Marin’s most popular shopping destinations. The Village at Corte Madera, located on the east side of Highway 101 has recently been renovated with new top stores such as Abercrombie and Fitch, the Apple Store as well as seasoned anchor tenants such as the ever popular Nordstrom and Macy’s, Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn. The beautiful outdoor mall includes a toddler play area with spouting fountains and outdoor dining and family friendly restaurants. The Village at Corte Madera located on the west side of 101 has many boutique shops, cooking stores, coffee houses and restaurants including the ever popular Il Fornaio restaurant.
Compared to other towns in Marin the houses are priced more moderately. There are approximately 4000 houses in Corte Madera with prices ranging from $700,000/$800,000 to $2.5 to $3m. Corte Madera is also home to a wide range of architectural styles with the majority of homes representing the ranch style period from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s architectural period. The East side of Corte Madera includes older and newer homes, townhomes and PUD’s.
